Warm greeting from Belitung Island. Vacation's Rule is simple, just do what you want to do. So, I wanna tell you what you can do in Belitung Island.
Islands Hopping
You can rent a boat at Kelayang Beach and take trip to Batu Garuda Island, Pasir Island, Batu Belayar Island, Lengkuas Island and Kepayang Island. There is a lighthouse in Lengkuas Island and some spot for snorkling. Also you can release a baby turtle there.This trip are about blue sea, white sand, starfishs and clean water. If you are an adventure, you might build a camp.
Sightseeing
Belitung Island has some interesting places to go, such as Museum, Melayu Traditional House, Kaolin "Blue" Lake, Literary Museum By Andrea Hirata, Satam Fountain And Park.
Enjoy Wonderful Beaches
Belitong Island has some wonderful beachs that you can reach with driving or riding. If you are stay in Tanjungpandan, you can go to Tanjung Kelayang Beach (20 minutes ) and Tanjung Tinggi Beach (25 minutes) . AlsoTanjung Pendam Beach, because it's only 5 minutes from city centre. If you are stay In Membalong (South), you can go to Penyabong Beach (20Minutes) and Teluk Gembira Beach (30Minutes). And if you are stay in Manggar, You can go to Serdang Beach (10 Minutes) and Nyiur Melambai Beach (15 Minutes)
Eat Likes Local
almost all of belitong's food is spicy, so you needs be careful when order some food in a restaurant. Gangan is the famous traditional fish soup in Belitung. Also Mie Rebus Belitung (Noodles), Soto Belitung, Rusip and Sambal Terasi ( Spicy)
Stay With Local
Find uniq experiences stay with local. You can find local host from CouchSurfing, AirBnB, or some homestay in Belitung. Some hoster can share their bed or room for free, but please stay carefully.
Drive / Ride Likes Local
Belitung is small island, you can reach all place with driving or riding. if you are travelling by your self, better if you take a ride to explore the city. You can rent a motorcycle from local people or your hotel, Its amount IDR 70k - 100k / Day. Don't worry if you get lost, just show your hotel's card and local people will help. For drive a car, you should pay for IDR 250k-300k / day. But make sure you to have an international license for drive / ride a motorcycle.
Fun Camp with local
It might be good news for adventurer, because you can make a camp in Island, Mountain or Beach. But you need rent a tent and local people as a guide. But dont forget to ask local people for permission.
Hang-out with local
I would to tell you about some places for hang out in Belitung. If you are in Tanjungpandan, may you can visit some cafes in Tanjungpendam Beach at Night. Such as Kareso Cafe, Uniq Bistro, Bunda Cafe and others. I usually hang out at Kareso Reagge Bar. Also you can hang out and meet local people at Coffeshop. The famous CoffeeShop in Tanjungpandan are Warkop Ake and Warkop Kongdjie. And go to Aloha Lounge for some beats at night.
